Domain Registration

We recommend that we purchase and manage the domain for your new website. This allows us to setup centralised control over the associated DNS using our Cloudflare CDN account – to configure website hosting. If you have IT Support our technology partner can work with them to implement any other required DNS changes (email hosting for example) and bill you directly.

We are able to arrange the purchase and management of your site domain. We offer, .com, .org, or .net domains for registration.

We typically encourage our clients to register a domain, but may make a recommendation based on your specific needs.

If a sole operator we would typically encourage registration of the client name, e.g.:

If there are multiple healthcare professionals operating as part of a larger business, we also additionally ask clients to consider registration of a name that does not include the name of the founder. This potentially allows more flexibility and may be a suitable choice longer term. Often these domains may incorporate keywords that are of SEO benefit.

If clients have an existing domain, that they have purchased and manage - we recommend that they transfer that domain to our control. We can assist you with this process.

Sometimes, organisations want to maintain control of their own domain, sometimes for IT management reasons - such as an existing mail setup (e.g.: MS Exchange). We can work with you and your IT Support to arrange a suitable solution.

.au domain registration requirements

.au Domain Administration (auDA) is the manager of the .au domain, which is the country-code top-level domain for Australia. According to auDA's regulations, or domains may only be registered to Australian sole traders, businesses or companies. This means that during the registration process, you will be asked to supply an Australian Business Number (ABN), Australian Company Number (ACN), State Business Number, Trademark Number or Incorporated Association Number to prove eligibility.

Those hoping to register domains must also meet the same registration requirements. However, they are further restricted to only Australian non-profit organisations and registered charities. Australian associations, clubs, sporting groups, political parties and close equivalents may register domain names, although such associations must be nonprofit.

In all cases, the .au domain must have a close and substantial connection to the person or business intending to use it.

.com domain registration requirements
